A reader is never alone, neither does he become a reader on his own. There is always a Book Friend. There is someone associated with the books in a reader’s life.
Someone who introduced you to books.
Someone who presented you with a book that touched your life.
Someone who recommended a book when you were low.
The one who lends books to you.
Who you consult before buying a book.
Someone with whom you can discuss you favourite books, without being judged.
The one you debate with on the latest award winner or a best seller.
Someone with whom you mourn the death of a fictional character.
That someone could mean a different thing for each of us. It is for us to decide who that someone is.
It’s time we thank and celebrate our Book Friend. Let us put up a thank you post/tweet and tag our book friend/s accompanied by #mybookfriend. If we have a picture handy, then let’s go ahead and post that too. And make more book friends at woodpie.com #woodpie
